Granite Gables Shetland Sheepdog Breeder
We are a Sheltie Breeder of the highest standards.

Granite Gables Shetland Sheepdogs is located in the beautiful Granite Hills
area of Colonial Valley in Grants Pass, Oregon. Our property on the rear
adjoins Granite Hills Road and our home is the only house on the street with
gables....Thus, the American Kennel Club registered Kennel name of Granite
Gables Shetland Sheepdogs Our kennel name was registered September 1,
2005. We remain in good standing with AKC and our last home visit and audit
with AKC was in 2010 where we received excellent marks in all categories.
We are members in good standing with the following clubs.

Southern Oregon Kennel Club
Australian Shepherd club of Rogue Valley
Canadian Kennel Club
American Kennel Club Breeder of Merit

Our Seven Acre estate called "Shetland Manor" is dedicated to the enjoyment
of our Shetland Sheepdogs also known as Shelties. We are a small but
dedicated Hobby kennel that strives to achieve the highest quality in our
breeding program as set forth by the American Shetland Sheepdog Association.
We are both retired so we can give much time to our family of Shelties.   We
show our Shelties in Conformation in AKC, CKC, and UKC events. Please
check out our Championship page to see which dogs we have championed.

Our Property is completely fenced and also several crossed fenced for our
dogs to play in. As members of the family, our dogs are not kept 100% in
outside or inside kennels. As constant companions they share in our everyday
family life. They enjoy the company of children, our guests and of course our
family members on a daily basis.

We maintain a private kennel for each visiting girls both inside (4x6 space with
fluff bed) which is heated and air conditioned along with their outside kennel
12 x 5 with overhang and dog house so they have complete comfort at all times.
  They also have a completely fenced exercise space of about 1/4 acre.

As a Sheltie Breeder our goal is to show and raise Shelties with sound bodies
and minds, good temperament and beauty.   We breed for ourselves but
occasionally have Sheltie pups for sale and adult Shelties for sale to approved
homes. All of our Sheltie pups are raised in our home and socialized to many
different situations. Pet puppies will be sold on a spay/neuter limited
registration.   We generally have only one or two carefully planned litters per
year. Our Shelties are tested for OFA, Thyroid, and Vwd at the appropriate age
and ask that anyone bringing a Sheltie into our home for breeding to our boys

We Finished our outside kennel area in 2007 so during severe winter and summer conditions
our new outside kennel with dog doors is now completed and the dogs have access to air
condition in the summer and heat in the winter and shade at all times. The outside area per dog
is 5' x 10 and sleeping area is 4 x 4. The inside is wood floors and the outside is concrete. In
2008 we finished our two room basement area for our bathing and grooming area which is part
of our home. You can find us there most days playing with pups we are growing out and
grooming for the show ring.
